Announcing Fresh Food Delivery from Lakewinds

We at Lakewinds are happy to announce a new service for our community. We’ve partnered with Instacart to bring local, fresh food delivery to you, affordably.

When you order groceries online from Lakewinds and Instacart, a personal shopper in your area shops and delivers your groceries to you! It’s easy for you to enjoy the unique, local products that Lakewinds provides, including locally grown produce, grass-fed meats, gluten-free products and more. The ordering process is simple, from selecting groceries to paying and receiving the grocery products you want, without leaving your home or office.

What is the cost? Lakewinds’ online prices are generally the same as they are in stores, with the exception of certain in-store sales events, owner specials and the use of your monthly owner discount. We don’t raise the cost of items just to bring you this service! As a thank you, your first grocery delivery (with a minimum order of $10) will be free!

The basic two-hour delivery fee is $3.99 for orders over $35. Here’s a breakdown of pricing information:

  • Orders must total at least $10 to qualify for delivery.
  • Orders over $35 are $3.99 for a two-hour, standard delivery.
  • Orders between $10 and $35 are $7.99 for two-hour delivery.
  • If you want a “rush” grocery order, a one-hour delivery starts at $9.99 per order.
  • New customers get $5 off

How do I pay? Instacart accepts all major credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Now cards on the Google app. Lakewinds’ owner purchases will be applied to their annual patronage total.

Who does the shopping? Screened and trained personal shoppers do your grocery shopping for you. They carefully select produce, local specialties and other items on your behalf. They know you’ll have an opportunity to rate them, so they work to provide top-notch service. If you give them permission, they’ll call or text you with questions—for example, if an item is out of stock, they might ask if you’d like a different brand. For extra assurance, produce is guaranteed to arrive fresh—if not, Instacart will give you a refund.

Where do you deliver? Currently, Instacart’s delivery area stretches from downtown Minneapolis, south and west, with the boundaries of 394 on the north, 169 or 494 on the west, 494 on the south, and West River Parkway and the airport on the east. To see the exact delivery area, visit instacart.com and enter the zip code where you want your delivery. If you live outside the delivery area but will be at a location within the delivery area—at work, for example—Instacart will deliver to that location. That includes a park, office building or friend’s house, but you must be there to receive the fresh food delivery or provide specific instructions on where to leave it. Your personal shopper won’t leave refrigerated or frozen foods without a person to accept them.

What are the hours? Instacart offers fresh food delivery from Lakewinds from 9 am to 9 pm, seven days a week. On holidays, delivery hours will be the same as our store hours. Delivery isn’t available on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.

How do I start? Go to the Lakewinds page and sign in at our Instacart store. From there you can browse the fresh, organic and local products found at our Richfield store location. Select the products and quantities you want, pay online and your groceries will be brought to you.

How do I return items? Instacart has a Customer Happiness team that handles all returns, refunds and redeliveries. Instacart’s policy is to do right by the customer, always. That may result in a refund for a product, or potentially redelivering a product.
